Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran later left the business. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared on every seasons of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, she had signed 53 deals on the show, with the biggest one being $350,000 to purchase 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran is the second child of 10 from a family of Irish Catholics who worked hard, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. Her father was always changing jobs during Corcoran’s life. Sometimes, her family depended on food delivery for free from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who was drunk sometimes and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a degree in English after failing several courses during her freshman years.
